Irish man sentenced to four years for spamming ‘Godaddy’

Dublin, Ireland – A man who made up his own domain name and sold it to a company using an email address on a website hosting platform has been sentenced to six years in jail.

Judge Richard Whelan said the man, who pleaded guilty to the offence, had used the email address for his personal use and used the website’s email service to spam the site.

He also used a fake website, www.godaddy.ie, to make payments to customers.

The court heard the man had made about €5,000 from the website.
