By Matthew Coyle, Associated PressA Linux server could be your best friend, or your worst enemy, depending on what you’re trying to do with it.
“This is where you can have a lot of flexibility in terms of what you can do, but also what you need to do,” said Matt Coyle , co-founder of cloud-based hosting provider CloudFlare.
“If you’re running a small site that’s really, really simple, you don’t really need this much storage.
For instance, I have a site that is just a single WordPress blog that is really just about WordPress.
It’s got just 10GB of storage.
If I needed a second blog, I could just move all of that off of that and move it to another WordPress site.”
Coyle said he found it easier to host his website in the cloud than hosting it on a dedicated server in the hostname directory.
CloudFlare offers a suite of services that allow users to easily move data off of Linux hosts, including Cloudflare Backup , CloudFlase File Manager , Cloudflase File Sync , CloudFLARE File Storage , CloudFile Storage , and CloudFile Cloud Storage.
You can also use CloudFlares File Sync to move files between cloud-hosted Linux and host-hosting servers.
As with other Linux hosts out there, CloudFlaring offers a virtualization solution for Linux hosts that makes it easy to run a Linux environment on a host that you can install.
In fact, you can even run a virtual Linux system on your own computer, Coyle said.
“It’s a great platform to run on,” he said.
“It’s really easy to get started, and you can just drop it in, and it’ll just be up and running.”
The cloud platform provides a solution that’s easy to install, Coyles said.
The cloud service has been used by more than 500,000 businesses in the United States and Canada.
CloudFlares software is available to anyone on Linux, said Coyle.
You can find the Linux client software for the cloud platform on the CloudFlave website.
Some Linux servers run on Linux-based operating systems such as Ubuntu or Debian, but Coyle noted that the cloud services are mostly open source and have not been officially supported by any Linux distributions.
Coyle also said CloudFlashes virtualized Linux hosting solution is more flexible than using the traditional virtualization solutions.
“This isn’t a virtual machine.
It’s a Linux virtual machine,” he explained.
“We’re not going to be using VMware or Red Hat as our virtualization providers, but you can use whatever you want.
There are so many things you can put on there, and there are so few things you have to worry about.”
