The Forbes Billionaires list includes Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar as the most successful athletes in the world.
The list also includes soccer stars Ronaldo, David Beckham and Luis Suarez, and NBA stars LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.
In a recent Forbes interview, Messi told the magazine that he “wouldnt mind having a bigger stake in a brand” than Ronaldo or the two world champions.
“I don’t see myself as a king in any way, shape or form,” Messi said.
“What would happen if I had more money than both of those guys?
If they went to Manchester United?
No, I would be happy.
But what if I didn’t?
That would be fine, right?”
The Brazilian was born on March 23, 1964, in Santa Maria de Barre in Brazil.
He played for his hometown team in the state of Rio de Janeiro and later became a professional footballer.
He was the first player to score 100 goals in a single season for Santos and was a member of the 1998 World Cup winning Brazilian squad.
In 2010, he announced his retirement from football, saying he was no longer a player and that his focus was on his philanthropy.
In 2016, he said he would not play again for the Barcelona team.
Messi’s father was a player for Barcelona’s national team.
He is also the founder of the Messi Foundation for Sports and Culture, which aims to increase participation in sports and education for children in his home country of Brazil.
The football legend will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on April 4 in New York.
